Hi Charles thanks for being here today, how do you think yesterdays game went?
CF: Really well, we wanted the ones [first team] to win and they went out
there and played possibly the best rugby they've played all season.
CF: Partly yes, obviously you want to play your best against UKC in the varsity,
so in that respects maybe
What was the atmosphere like and did it spur the team on?
CF: Atomsphere was electric the support was unbelievable, Ian Blackmore
with his drum and Dougle on the trumpet just silenced the UKC support.
What did you do to prepare for the match?
CF: Just treated it as a normal game, tried to relax, chill out before hand.
We met up with the lads and went to the ground as a unit. We watched the
womens game which I think gave us an extra incentive to play well seeing as
they smashed their opposition.
Towards the end when things started drifting towards UKC’s direction did
you notice any difference in the mentality of the team?
CF: We became more determined because we
played the better rugby and we took our chances. We shouldn't have
let them back into the game but its always gonna be tough playing UKC but collectively we stuck to our game plan and defended with our lives.
Who do you think shone on the day?
CF: Mikey G [Michael Gallagher] had an outstanding game, he played like a man possessed.
James Lunnun lead by example as always and the rest of the team stood up
and were counted. We were all very proud of the performance we gave.
How did the team celebrate?
CF: Everyone went down the Jolly [Sailor] and that being our rugby pub the
atmosphere was still great and the beer was flowing.
Thanks Charles.
Thanks Charles.
